If you like cycling there are fantastic cycle routes to choose from, follow the old engine houses at south Crofty, cycle next to the river Fal, head towards Portscatho, past Trelissick Garden, to Helston and Poldark mine before heading back to the start. The area is steeped in mining heritage, walk along The Flat Lode, climb Carn Brea visit Heartlands Cornish visitor attraction, everywhere you go you will see remnants of history, especially in Redruth town.
If you prefer to walk the choice would be coastal or countryside or try one of the many circular walks that cover both, a pub is usually featured along the route for essential refreshment.
