An adorable 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom Highlands cottage with a great location and lovely outdoor space. Follow the path to the covered entryway and enter the upper level of the home. The upper level includes a kitchen and dining area, the master bedroom, full bathroom, and deck access. The master bedroom has a king bed and TV and uses the upstairs bathroom with a step-in shower. The screened in deck offers a space for dining and relaxing, and can be opened on one side to include an open area of the deck. Downstairs, one guest room with 3 twin beds neighbors a second guest room with 2 full beds. The sitting area on the lower level has a TV and sliding glass doors to the outdoor dining area and firepit, surrounded by beautiful lush greenery. This home is in a perfect location for taking advantage of downtown Highlands and enjoying a private setting.
Your reservation includes a damage protection plan. The damage protection plan is $50, and it covers up to $3,000 in damages. Summary: Pros: Location (close to town and just off Franklin Road), wonderful outdoor living room with a view, sound of rushing brook right below property. Decently stocked kitchen dishes and glassware. Did not have time to use firepit which looked inviting. Cons: Downstairs was so musty smelling that the smell stuck in your throat, white blanket on bed had “stuff” all over it - like it had been thrown on the floor and not washed or shaken off before returning to bed. One downstairs bedroom had a door that was blocked by furniture and could not be closed, so it was wide open to sitting room at all times. But the worst was the swarm of insects that appeared in the downstairs bathroom in the middle of the night. There were itty bitty crawling insects (too many to kill) and flying insects that looked suspiciously like termites tho I have no reference for this, and not a can of insect spray anywhere in the house. We had four women and were down to one bathroom. Not a great scene!! The oldest member of our group felt the railings on the steep stairwell to the bottom floor bedrooms were not adequate and an accident waiting to happen. Although there was much to like, would not book this property again.
