Positive: Amazing location, lots of public beaches within walking distance (closest is <3 min away). Two bigger stores (open til 10pm every day) circa 10 min walk away. A cafe and a restaurant directly in front of the house. They don’t get too crowded or too noisy, except if you happen to catch a street music performance happening right across the road (they finish at a reasonable hour of course). We had an apartment with a balcony facing the street and the sea, so when the live music was happening we were able to enjoy it from the privacy of our balcony which was such a special experience to have. I recommend this apartment complex firstly because of the great location, but I have to also mention the absolutely sweetest hosts! They welcomed us into an air-conditioned apartment, two cold beers and an orange juice waiting for us in the refrigerator. They surprised us with bowls of their homegrown figs not one, but two times during our 9 day stay, as well as a plate of freshly baked cake on our last evening there. The hosts are very kind and friendly, it felt like visiting distant family members. Maslenica is very cozy and perfect for a chill, relaxing getaway for people who don’t care about “going out into town”. Lots of beautiful beaches no more than a 20 min car ride away for those open to exploring, as well as the beautiful Zrmanja river where you can hike the trail to the Zrmanja canyon or visit the camping grounds situated on the Zrmanja waterfalls. Lots of beautiful nature around this part of the coast. The parking is free and right next to the house. The apartment was clean and tidy with everything you need (and more), the kitchen is stocked with all of the equipment and cutlery, as well as the basic spices, you get a microwave and an electric kettle, obviously the previously mentioned AC, TV, WiFi. The balcony is also equipped with a retractable awning so you can always have shade while on the balcony.
Negative: The small bathroom lights above the mirror weren’t working so that should be fixed. If you dislike the music performance happening on the street stage (friday & saturday during our early August stay) there’s not much you can do about it, as closing the doors and windows doesn’t keep the sound out - you will still hear it. That’s up to you if that’s a good or a bad thing.
Summary: Best location in Maslenica, and the kindest hosts, everything you’d ever need is right under your nose!
