Beautiful Beach Holiday Apartment, only a few minutes walk to the stunning Alum Chine Beach which again has been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag award for its world class pristine golden sands, excellent water quality and safe bathing.
We would like to reassure all our guests that we are taking Covid 19 extremely seriously. We have implemented changes to our already high cleaning standards. All bed linen and towels will be washed at 60c . All beds and pillows have protectors which will also be replaced as part of our cleaning policy after each stay. We will then ventilate the rooms for a few hours before allowing new guests to enter. We would ask guests to remove shoes before entering the apartment to reduce any contamination. Hand gels and antibacterial soap will be provided.
The Moorings has two double bedrooms, one with a King size bed and the other with two single beds and a sofa bed in the lounge. The apartment ideally would suit 5 people as the sofa bed is a bit uncomfortable for two adults. The Apartment offers all the modern conveniences and, as it has all been recently replaced, everything is in perfect order with a brand new kitchen and shower room. From the balcony as well as being able to see the sea, there are also amazing views over the tree tops of the famous chine.
The apartment is one of six in the block so you will be aware of people above below and alongside you.
It is ideally situated, making it the perfect base to explore the area by car or bike, such as the world famous Jurassic coast and the beaches and heathlands of Studland bay, only a short ferry ride away. For the more active holiday makers, water sports and golf facilities are within easy reach. For families with young children Alum Chine has a wonderful play area newly refurbished (2018) on the beach next to Vesuvio restaurant where parents can sit, relax and have a drink whilst keeping an eye on the kids in the park.
The apartment lies within a twenty minute walk along the promenade to Bournemouth pier or 5 minutes if you catch the noddy train to all the attractions of Bournemouth town centre including fabulous shopping, restaurants and bars. A fifteen minute stroll up the tree lined chine takes you to Westbourne village again offering quaint shops, good restaurants and bars as well as a Marks and Spencer food hall, a Tesco express, a butchers and bakers etc. Heading West along the promenade will take you to the stunning Sandbanks beach with all its water sports and recently opened Rick Stein's latest restaurant amongst others.
Cycling along the promenade is permitted all year round except in the summer months July 1st to 30th September it is restricted to before 9am and after 6pm the perfect way to explore Studland. We have excellent transport links: 20 minutes from Hurn airport, frequent train links to and from London Waterloo (1.3 miles to Branksome station, 1.9 miles to Bournemouth station), National express from Victoria to Bournemouth train station every day and of course good road links with the M3, M27 down to the south coast.
This property is not suitable for Hen or Stag weekends or young adults hoping to take advantage of the night life Bournemouth has to offer as it is located in a quiet residential area with neighbours in close proximity.

Summary: Had a fantastic short break in this lovely apartment. It was spacious, very clean and modern, and had everything we needed. It was in such a great location, literally minutes from the beach, and had the woods behind it which you could look at from the balcony. It was a very peaceful street with loads of parking. We had our own parking space but I parked on the road as it was easier to get out with our space being close to a wall and other residents cars, and me not being the best parker in the world! We had a very restful night's sleep there with no noise at all and the beds were very comfy. Alum Chine beach was pristine and not all that busy at all when we went (Jubilee Bank Holiday week). There is a kids play area and large cafe right on the beach, and it's a short stroll alongside the beach to Bournemouth pier and the town centre, with plenty of ice cream stands, restaurants and arcades along the way. The woods behind the beach and the property were lovely to walk through, very quiet. There was a Tesco & M&S Food Hall a short walk away for all our food needs. We had a day trip to Kimmeridge Beach on the Jurassic Coast which was only around 45 minutes away and was great for the kids. We also visited the Oceanarium which was a great morning out. All in all I only used my car on the one day. There was a bus stop right next to the beach 2 mins away that took you to places like Poole if you didn't want to drive. The owner of the property was lovely and we had a delicious homemade lemon cake left for us on our arrival. She answered a message I sent within a few minutes and was happy to help. So happy we found this lovely place! I wish we had booked for longer and I will definitely look at going back next year.
