The apartment is 25 km from the airport and 40 km from the center of Cape Town. Because of the above factors, our apartment is a wonderful accommodation to rent in South Africa and the Western Cape. An ideal base, not only for visiting Cape Town and surroundings but also for the beautiful Stellenbosch, only 20 km away.
The apartment is part of the "De Velde" estate that is monitored for 24 hours, both electronically and d. m.v. supervisors. It overlooks the golf course of De Strand golf club with in the background the Hottentots-Holland and Clear Mountains and is 2 km away from the blue waters of False Bay.
The tastefully furnished apartment is fully equipped and will undoubtedly be a resting point in the busy program that a holiday in South Africa, and certainly a holiday in Cape Town, entails.
As a tenant of our apartment you can make free use of the many facilities that "De Velde" has to offer. As you can see on arrival, the resort is guarded. This is done 24 hours a day by both regulators and electronically.

Our apartment is spacious and comfortably furnished and has Wifi in all rooms. In addition to a cozy living dining room with Smart t. v. and soundbar, our apartment contains 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

> The beds can be made up as Kingsize or single, as desired. Both bedrooms have a ceiling fan.
> A fully equipped kitchen with 4-burner gas stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, washing machine and dryer.
> The large balcony overlooks the golf course of the Strand golf club and in the distance you can see False Bay and the Hottentots-Holland and Clear Mountains. On the balcony, of course, a garden set as well as a Weber BBQ.

AREA:
Somerset-West is situated in the middle of the famous Cape Winelands. The city originated around the Lourens river and Vergelegen, a historic wine estate.
Somerset owes its name to the English Governor of the Cape Colony around 1800, Lord Charles Henry Somerset. The suffix West was added around 1825 to make a distinction with Somerset East in the Eastern Cape.
Today Somerset-West is a popular place, thanks to the location between the majestic mountains and near the sea and the most important highlights in the Cape Province and Stellenbosch. The presence of the many golf courses, including the famous Erinvale golf course designed by South African golfer Gary Player, makes Somerset-West a sought-after holiday destination.
From Somerset-West you can easily reach the beautiful beaches of Strand and Gordon's Bay. Via the Sir Lowry's Pass, which runs over the Hottentots-Holland mountains and offers a magnificent view over the False Bay, you enter the Cape Overberg area and further into Hermanus and the garden route.

SOUTH AFRICA BEACH HOLIDAY:
At a short distance from our apartment (2 km) lies False Bay with beautiful, wide sandy beaches. A beach holiday in South Africa is a special experience due to the presence of some of the most beautiful sandy beaches in the world. The beach is surrounded by mountain ranges and hills with vast vineyards. Kite and wave surfers and other water sports enthusiasts can indulge themselves here. You can also find in the area the "child-friendly beach" of Gordon's Bay, where you can enjoy the whole family!
GOLFING IN SOUTH AFRICA:
Golf in South Africa is, thanks to the diversity of the golf courses present, a real pleasure for the enthusiast. The Western Cape in particular has a large number of golf courses. Also in Somerset-West e. You have plenty of choice such as "Erinvale Golf Estate" and the "Stellenbosch Golf Course". Opposite "De Velde" resort you will find the "Strand golf club". Because of the proximity of Cape Town with its many highlights and the location of our apartment in the wine route, a stay in Somerset-West can be combined perfectly with golf in South Africa.
WINE ROUTE:
Somerset-West is part of the Stellenbosch wine route and is surrounded by many beautiful wine estates, including Vergelegen Estate, Eikendal, Morgenster, Waterkloof e. v.a. Not only can you taste the finest wines here because many estates also have a restaurant where you can eat. The Waterkloof restaurant is even in the top 3 of the best restaurants in South Africa. At Morgenster, an olive oil tasting is offered next to wine.
WALKS:
You can make numerous walks. We name a few: the "Wetlands" of Paardevlei but also the walks from Sir Lowry's Pass. Here you can see more than 1500 species of native plants, including the beautiful fynbos. You can go for a walk and picnic in the Helderberg Nature Reserve. Also a bit further away you can enjoy the beautiful nature and make walks in National Park Cape of Good Hope.
WILDLIFE:
Also in the Cape Province there are countless possibilities to come into contact with wild animals. The Cheetah Outreach Foundation b. v. (opposite "de Velde") is a shelter for cheetahs and other big cats, such as the Lynx. There are also wildlife parks where safaris can be made with the added benefit of being malaria free. At a 3-hour drive from Cape Town you will find Sanbona Wildlife Reserve. Aquila Private Game Reserve is 130 km from Cape Town and near Port Elizabeth you will find Addo Elephant Park, Shamwaki Game Reserve and Lalibela Game Reserve.
BETTY'S BAY:
A marvelous motorcycle tour along the coast takes you from Gordons Bay via Pringle Bay to Betty's Bay. Here you will find a large colony of penguins. An additional advantage: much quieter than in Boulders. You can continue this tour to Hermanus where you can see numerous humpbacks and other whale species during the season (June to December). Hermanus is a nice place to visit. The retreat takes over the beautiful Sir Lowry's pass.
