Overview
River Studios Florence, Unit B is a wonderful 1 Bed/1Bath Condo centrally located in the heart of bustling Old Town Florence. This beautiful studio is the perfect getaway for 2 people wanting to come out and have fun and explore the Florence Oregon Coast. Right outside the door or within a short walk are great restaurants, fun stores and boutiques, art galleries, ice cream and chocolate shops, coffee and tea shops, pubs and wine tasting, a well-stocked convenience store with great wines and donuts, and the majestic Siuslaw River. This second floor studio overlooks the wharf and the Siuslaw Estuary, featuring spectacular views of the Siuslaw River and iconic Siuslaw Bridge. Bring your binoculars because many species of birds, sea lions, boaters and the occasional orca can be seen right from the deck! As well, you can catch fish right from the deck or the wharf, or even rent a crab pot from the convenience store down the street and have them cook your catch for dinner.
Florence was voted number one - most beautiful places by Expedia in 2017, 2018 & 2019!! But the beauty continues beyond Historic Old Town Florence. Scenic hikes, wide-open ocean beaches, the National Dunes, several golf courses and a casino are all within a quick 10 minute drive. Just a few minutes north along the coast and you’ll find fun in the sun and surf at the fabulous Heceta Beach and of course don’t forget to visit the world famous and most photographed Heceta Head Lighthouse as well as the Sea Lion Caves! Grab your sand boards and sand toys and have a fantastic time at the dunes a 5 minute drive south of town. For the avid fisherman, test your skills on one of the 27 lakes in the Florence area sporting some of the best trophy bass. Swim or rent kayaks and canoes to explore Cleawox Lake. Ride horses on Baker Beach. Hunt for agates and other stony treasures at the many beaches. Or, simply drive along the coast, stopping at one spectacular vista after another to watch elk herds grazing by Lilly Lake, the sunset at the Baker Beach overlook, the tide coming through Thor's Well, or survey wildlife in the tidepools at Cape Perpetua.
Parking: While free parking on the street in front of the building is an option, it’s sometimes hard to come by, especially during summer months. However, there are free public parking lots just down the street in either direction.
Noise, activity considerations: Although we have beautiful views of the Siuslaw River and Siuslaw Bridge, there is no bridge noise as we are located several blocks from the bridge and not near enough to hear the traffic or bridge activity. While the deck and condo are peaceful, there is street activity on weekends especially, until 10 or 11 o'clock. This condo is located in the heart of busy Old Town, surrounded by shops and restaurants. Most businesses open at 10 AM and close at 8 PM. A nearby restaurant features live music three nights per week, popular with both locals and vacationers. The music ends promptly at 9 PM and the restaurant closes at 10 PM. Service and supply trucks come and go sometimes in the very early hours.
