Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Spacious room in a clean and well prepared apartment with shared bathroom, open dining area and kitchen. A cleaning lady comes every morning and does a good job of keeping it all spick and span. Excellent supermarket 5 mins. walk , Malaga old town and cathedral are on the other side of the river about 20 mins. walk. Train/bus stations also about a mile /20 mins. walk away. The apartment is in a small cul de sac, no passing traffic but you can hear the noisy scooters ripping past not far away so if you want a quiet room, ask for one of the back rooms (not no.1!) On the whole, good value for money, and the owner obviously does his/her best to offer a good place to stay. .
Negative: Bring some insect repellent - there were mosquitoes not only in the open dining area but also in the bedroom during our stay. We were surprised about this as it was early March and we hadn't seen any mosquitoes at any of the other places that we stayed at., Another guest said she had them in her room too. Put a couple of chairs + a small table in the bedroom . Our room, (no.1) contained only the bed, 2 small bedside cabinets and a fitted wardrobe. Plenty of room for two chairs at least. The kitchen, to be fair is well equipped, (certainly better than most at similar places) but it had only 3 cups/mugs on our first day and on day 2 just one cup ! I texted the owner but received no response. In a shared apartment housing 8+ people, more than one cup would be good. There were also only 4 glasses /tumblers available for 8+ people. Again, they aren't expensive to buy at the local charity shop which is 7 mins. walk away. These however are fairly minor points , on the whole this is a good value , clean and tidy place to stay.
