The villa has been tastefully decorated in the pure style of the Charles Latitude group.It is very well ventilated and is on 3 levels: - Ground floor: 3 large air-conditioned bedrooms (160x200 bed), one sea side and two garden side, each with its own bathroom, large terrace, 12x3m swimming pool, massage benches, outdoor living room, covered terrace, large living room air-conditioned facing the sea with TV, indoor dining room, fully equipped kitchen - 1st floor: 2 large air-conditioned bedrooms (1 160x200 bed, 2 90x190 beds) each with their adjoining bathroom, fully equipped American kitchen, lounge area ideal for children, terrace with sea view and terrace with garden view - Garden level: 3 large air-conditioned bedrooms (2 160x200 beds, 1 180x200 bed), 3 bathroomsbathroom, fully equipped American kitchen, living room with TV, dining room, covered terrace with bar area, dining area and lounge area overlooking the garden and the swimming pool, swimming pool, fitness room It is located in the 8 hectare tropical park of the guarded and secure residence of Anse des Rochers and is less than 5 minutes walk from the beach. This beach is located in the private residence of Anchorage. You benefit from the facilities of the hotel complex: a restaurant on the beach and access by car. Located high up, it offers you a large swimming pool 12m long and 3m wide with a splendid sea view. A second swimming pool is located behind the villa around a small tropical garden. You have the possibility of renting our Toucan apartment equipped to accommodate 8 additional people (located 5min walk from Villa Charles) with a sea view on the private beach of Anse des Rochers. The villa is equipped with a water tank to compensate for any possible cuts, as well as a Wi-Fi connection with fiber. During your stay, a cleaning service is provided every day except Sunday. The Charles Latitude is at your disposal for a tailor-made stay and allows you to benefit from advice and reservations for your excursions, your shopping, restaurants, massages and tastings of local products. Anse des Rochers beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Guadeloupe. Located in the city of Saint François which is the most beautiful seaside resort in Guadeloupe. Close to the 18-hole golf course, a casino, a nautical base, a lively marina with restaurants and shops, a ferry terminal for departures to the other islands of Guadeloupe (les Saintes, la Désirade, Marie-Galante and Petite Terre). Many local products on the daily and night markets (Tuesday evening). It is advisable to rent a vehicle for all your trips and visits to the island. Summary: We were an extended family of 13 adults and a 15-month old child who spent a week at Villa Charles. We rented all three apartments, which easily accommodated our family, while allowing separate spaces for separation, when needed. The apartment is as advertised - clean, contemporary and well-appointed and a short walk to the private beach. The internal staircases made it easy to go from one apartment to another. The large kitchen and living space on the main floor served as our gathering point and we enjoyed several meals together using the long tables on the front porch. And there was plenty of outdoor parking for our four cars. Marie was easy to communicate with before and during our stay, especially given our limited French language proficiency. She was both helpful and responsive to our concerns. And prior to our arrival she installed removable screen fencing so that our toddler was safe around both swimming pools. Upon our arrival two of the air-conditioning units were not working. One had to be replaced; the other needed service. Since this occurred over the Christmas holiday, it took a couple of days to correct. The villa has two washer / dryer machines and one separate washer and dryer. None of them actually worked to dry our clothes. We had to use the drying racks and the outdoor clothes line, which was problematic with so many people, towels and the occasional rain storm. Most of the bedrooms are small, some with closets; others without. The morning of our departure there was NO water. We’re still not clear why, although Marie indicated we used up the “reserve”, which we knew nothing about. It was a frustrating end to a wonderful stay, as many of us had long return trips. A previous review also mentioned this happening. We found the Saint Francois public beach much better than the private beach. We enjoyed restaurants in both Saint Anne and Saint Francois, especially Kote Sud and the grilled lobsters at Columbo! And the many wonderful patisseries and rotisseries kept us fed in between. We shopped in the local street markets, Carrefour supermarket and at La Cave a Vieux in Pointe-à-Pitre, with its fabulous selection of wine and spirits. We visited the Zoo de Guadeloupe au Parc des Mamelles, the Jardin botanique de Deshaies and La Pointe des Châteaux.
