The Iris cottage is nestled amongst the trees of the Fireweed Meadows Golf Course in beautiful Anchor Point Alaska. This one-bedroom retreat features breathtaking views from the private balcony and porch. Complete with WI-FI this is the perfect place to work mobile, do distance learning, or relax for the weekend. This cottage was designed and built by the talented Lauren Isenhour of Homegrown Construction. As indicative of all of Lauren's designs, each cottage is an eclectic combination of found objects, new construction, and unique pieces sourced from all over the country.
Custom touches abound in the Iris cottage with the hand-painted mural in the living room, custom-painted tiles in the shower surround, and hand-stenciled floors in the loft bedroom. The open concept 650 sq ft cottage feels extra spacious with high vaulted ceilings and lots of windows. The upstairs bedroom has a private patio with stellar views of the golf course and the sunsets. The Iris has a full kitchen with a gas range and all the kitchen necessities including a microwave, toaster, and coffee maker.
This is a quiet area that faces the 9th hole of the Fireweed Meadows Golf Course. A small gravel drive welcomes you to your private parking space steps from the front door of your cottage. Minutes from the heart of Anchor Point and all it has to offer, including the Cheeky Moose Laundry Mat, The Warehouse, our charming local grocer.

Summary: My wife and I stayed at this property to celebrate our 6th anniversary and my return from deployment. The location was so great! It’s a nice quiet location out of the way of others traveling through on the highway. The cabin itself has a gas range and oven, a fridge and freezer, as well as plates, pots and pans. We cooked a meal our first night, and the host will tell you that The Warehouse which is a 2 minute drive from the property is a good place to get groceries, but we found that taking the 20 minute trip into Homer to stop at the Safeway was much better. The property itself was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The only curtains or shades are in the bedroom, so sleep masks were provided. All in all, this was a great location, and the check in/out process required no effort whatsoever. If I ever take another trip to Homer, I’ll strongly consider this property again.
