Summary: This African American woman solo traveler in town for a convention full of longtime associates and friends (last-minute decision, so I missed out on the main and overflow hotels) really appreciated a place to chill, read, make my toast and tea away from the heart of the action. This bungalow filled the bill. It was close to the downtown convention center and many civil rights sites I wanted to see in Birmingham, a pretty easy city to navigate with a smart phone. My own place is older, so I appreciated the tile fireplace hearth, transom windows and other period details. The property owner communicated promptly, thoroughly and clearly — VERY helpful, as I'm a digital non-native still getting accustomed to apps. Everything I'd have required was available at the house. That which wasn't, such as my own tea, I brought with me. In all, a good experience that helped affirm my decision to drive from a couple of states away.
