If you love drinking top notch coffee in the morning while looking out at a quiet creek in the middle of the hustle and bustle of what is East Austin, you have found your place. The property hosts a large home with your private guest suite off the back. With skylights over the bed and the 1902 clawfoot tub, the 9 foot accordion door to private patio over looking the creek and hot tub, you will feel the bliss of nature while in the Austin city limits. The property hosts a large home with a newly built honeymoon suite off the back. The suite is beautiful, so nice you might find yourself not wanting to leave it. It has a fourteen-foot ceiling with three skylights over the bed and a nine-foot accordion door that opens completely up to a private two-level patio overlooking the creek with a hot tub. The suite is 16 by 16 with a new queen-sized bed, sitting area, and a kitchenette equipped with toaster oven, mini-frig, microwave, coffee, tea, sugar, filtered water, water kettle, and all essentials (kitchen sink is on the back patio). There is not a stove in the unit. The ac and heat are controlled by you through a private system. There is a monitor that you can hook up your computer to in order to watch movies and we have a Ruku installed on it with over 40 channels.
The bathroom is really the best you will ever​ see. It has a very rare labradorite countertop, hot water on demand, a 1902 claw foot tub with huge windows and a skylight overhead, and a full-size washer and drier.
Outside of the property is what we will just call the "charm" of East Austin, weird indeed as the slogan would call it. When you step past the large front coverage of trees that line the 1/2 acre property though you find yourself in an oasis filled with green organically pest and mosquito controlled lawns, a screened-in patio next to the backyard creek, owls calling their lovers, the resident hawk flying overhead, cranes flying down the creek fishing for their breakfast (if you wake up early enough), and flying unicorns (just kidding). My friend said to me as I was tooth brushing the baseboards, “Cassie, nobody is going to care what the inside looks like after seeing the backyard.”
Swimming in the creek is possible about 80% of the time. It is not possible when there has been too much rain (fast flowing and running off) or too little rain (stagnant water).
The backyard is shared with other guest staying on the property in other units, but the double level patio, yard within the separate private gated area, and hot tub is yours. There is a play gym also in your section of the backyard but it is a work in progress, a labor of love for our daughter that is not safe for others yet to play on (the heat this summer has halted construction).
The rate includes wifi, private suite, and bathroom, fire pit, a large patio and screened in porch, hot tub, creek, linens and towels, shampoo, soap, access to a ​washer and drier, coffee, and kitchen essentials.
Just bring yourself, an open heart and your bag of clothes...
We want everybody who comes here to love their stay, so please ask for anything you need and we will help as much as possible…. Just ask.
This is our personal space that we rent out while we are out of town, so please be respectful of our things. This is the bedroom and bathroom portion of our two bedroom unit. On the other side of the bathroom door is vacant, so you have complete privacy. We do have pets, so if you are allergic to cats or dogs, this might not be the best rental for you (as there might be some lingering dander that could bother you). :)
There is bus transportation one block from the house that goes into downtown (a 15 minute drive when there is no Austin traffic). All details about transportation are in the house manual.
Smoking only allowed outside on the back patio.

Had a great time in Austin staying at Cassie’s place. Very comfortable and a cool spot. Great outdoor hanging places. Felt like a country spot right in the city. Easy to get downtown. Would return.

If you want a bit of reprieve from the city but don't want to stay in the Hill Country - rent Cassie's place! It's only 10 min. to amazing east side restaurants, bars, & grocery stores but it feels like staying out in the country because of the beautiful surrounding nature and creek in the back yard. It was quiet and peaceful. The space it's self feels very roomy because of the tall ceilings, tall glass doors (with curtains) and skylights. It was clean and very comfortable and the claw-foot bathtub was the cherry on top! I highly recommend this place for anyone coming to visit Austin or for anyone living in Austin who is in need of a stay-cation!

Very peaceful, lots of early morning light through the many beautiful windows. Loved being greeted by the chickens and cats in the morning. The location was great for us to access downtown Austin restaurants and get out to the Circuit of the Americas.
