LACK OF REVIEWS;
We have rented this house separately as an upper and lower unit on VRBO/HomeAway since 2017 with many hundreds of great 5 star reviews. We just recently decided to rent it as a whole house option with both units as one rental. VRBO/HomeAway does not allow the existing excellent reviews we have to transfer to the same property because the system treats it as a new listing even though it is not.
WHO WE ARE AS HOSTS;
We have been VRBO/HomeAway Premier Hosts since 2016 and have thousands of reviews online for our 20+ properties. Our average review rating is 4.9+ stars average out of 5.0 stars.
FEES, RATES AND TAXES;
The only fee we charge is a low $110 cleaning fee. The only other fees you will see is the VRBO/HomeAway booking fee they charge to each guest which they keep and local taxes as required by law. We take an additional 10% off the weekly rate and 20% off the monthly rate.
TRIP PLANNER - SPECIAL DISCOUNTS;
We have an extensive Trip Planner Document that we give to each guest that has awesome tips on everything from; where to eat and drink to wineries and waterfalls and everything in between. We ALSO have negotiated a special 25% discount for all people in your group with Nacoochee Adventures and ziplining for our guests. That includes all activities, food and drinks also!!!
HOUSE OVERVIEW;
The 2150 square foot air conditioned and heated Bavarian cabin has an upper level and a lower level. You are renting the entire house both the upper and lower units. So the cool thing is that you get two rental units in one and can enjoy total privacy while still being together. Each unit has it's own sleeping areas, full kitchens, full bathrooms, and each there are two Jacuzzi tubs. The upper unit is 1350 sq feet and the lower unit is 800 sq ft. Like all of our rentals we make sure the kitchens are very well stocked for all your cooking needs. There is lots of storage for your belongings. The house is beautifully decorated with high end real wood furniture, vaulted wood ceilings, gorgeous hardwood floors, skylights, etc. The property has lovely outdoor sitting areas both covered and open with dazzling views. It is wooded around our home and very private from other neighbors. You will find it to be furnished for a very comfy stay with everything you need such as; all linens and bedding, towels, extensive kitchen items, two smart TVs, Wi-Fi, deck furniture, some board games and a washer / dryer in the upper unit.
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS AND PRIVACY;
The upper unit has huge fully enclosed bedroom with a king bed. There is a queen blow up mattress to use on the floor in the living room. The upper unit sleeps a total of 4 people. The lower unit is a large open studio style space with a king bed that is open to the rest of the unit. The Jacuzzi tub is open to the unit. The shower is open to the sleeping area, but not the kitchen. The toilet is inside a closed water closet for privacy. There is a queen blow up mattress that would be placed near the breakfast table on the floor. The lower unit sleeps a total of 4 people. Combined upper and lower sleeps 8 people.
LOCATION;
There is no rental home closer to downtown Helen than our place! It is the perfect mix of a 60 second walk to all the action right in the epicenter of Downtown Helen yet you are set back just enough for some peace and quiet and to enjoy the lovely views and nature from our multiple elevated decks. ***Note if you are a very light sleeper you may wish to bring ear plugs as you can hear some hustle and bustle from town on the weekends at certain times of the year. We provide a pedestal fan for some white noise as well. Most people are not bothered and it never bothers our family. The Georgia Alpine Coaster is a 2 minute walk from our property. Not having to drive into town is a huge plus because of the traffic, paying for overcrowded parking and of course not worrying about getting behind the wheel after drinking a few those famous German beers. The surrounding areas offer a ton to do as well, from mountain hiking, waterfalls, lakes and fishing, to wineries, shopping, antiques and skiing.
VEHICLES AND PARKING;
We can fit 3 vehicles in our driveway. ***Note our driveway is steep right at the start from the road. For example a very low rider sports car may bottom our. Any normal vehicles will be fine.
ADDITIONAL RENTAL OPTIONS;
You can also rent just the UPPER unit or just the LOWER unit if you have a smaller group so just ask us. Obviously the price gets cut in half as well. We have another rental property in Helen and three more in Clayton so if this property is booked for your dates, we may have other options for you - just ask.
THE TOWN OF HELEN;
If you have never been to Helen before you are in for a treat. It is a Bavarian style town with great beer halls and bars, restaurants and shopping, nature oriented adventures and a ton of family fun activities. By law all architecture must be Bavarian in style, even the fast food joints! In addition, if you want to explore the surrounding areas the natural wonders are incredible for hiking, waterfalls, kayaking, swimming, fishing, golfing, vineyards, etc. During the summer, people tube right down the river in front of our cabin. There are large lakes with public beach access close by and many festivals throughout the year. Helen is the 3rd most visited town in Georgia despite having only 500 full time residents.
