Summary: Riad is lovely inside and the staff are attentive and friendly. It is to the north of the medina, which is a reasonable walk to the sights, and is closer to neighbourhood shops that are used by local people. This means it is very loud at night - we stayed in the room at the top front of the Riad and visited over Ramadan (so late night activity is expected and reasonable) and although we are heavy sleepers, we barely slept the first night due to constant motorbike noises, children in the street outside, general shouting and talking and then the call to prayer beginning. You can use the air conditioning unit to cover some of the noise but unfortunately this rattles loudly which is also difficult to sleep with. We would really recommend that the Riad put some heavy curtains in the room, potentially some form of sound insulation against the wooden windows and a thicker rug as the noise echoes in the room. It was a shame it was noisy because the staff were so kind and friendly and did check to see if they could swap our room to help us sleep.
