The wide open spaces of the Great Basin desert are close. Very few people, wilderness, many trails, hot springs, hang-gliding, fishing, Hart Mt. antelope refuge, wildlife viewing, bird watching, roller-blading in season (really!), Mt. biking, hiking, photography, snow mobiling, cross country skiing, and downhill skiing at Warner ski area 5 miles away.
