The Trévou-Tréguignec coastline has many sensitive areas described by Professor Jean-Pierre Pinot in his book La Gestion du littoral2. The professor studied a set of "comet tails" characteristic of the coast of Treviso. A comet tail is an accumulation of sediment in a sheltered position behind a reef, an islet or an island. The Marais de Trestel is also an original environment which was the subject of a study by Mohamed Alhassan on behalf of the General Council of Côtes-d'Armor: The Marsh of Trestel: an original environment - Contribution to the ecological diagnosis and project enhancement through the creation of walking routes (years 2002-2004). This marsh was also studied during the Natura 2000 survey (existence of habitats of community interest to be preserved).
To the west of Trestel beach, one can observe a very characteristic geological formation: a vein of dolerite.
At the beginning of the 20th century, Trestel beach changed its face with the construction of numerous hotels and villas.
The inauguration of the Grand Hôtel Casino de la Mer on August 7, 1910 was the subject of a series of postcards edited by Eugène Lageat. On this day, there is a crowd on Trestel beach to attend the numerous events: bicycle races, cocagne mast, fireworks and popular ball. This hotel, sometimes called Hôtel Thomas, Hôtel Kermor or Grand Café de la Mer, was destroyed in the 1950s to allow the extension of the sanatorium.
Trestel beach seems to have been a conquest made by the sea. There are indeed remains of a forest that has become underwater. Benjamin Jollivet explains that the beach was once planted with tall berry trees. "Everywhere, in fact, at very small depths (from 60 to 80 centimeters) we find trunks of alders or oaks
