Summary: This cottage offers the best of all worlds! It is located on a grassy, wooded lot overlooking Lake Michigan, offering shade and a large grassy backyard and front lawn for activities, with just 60 steps down to a sandy beach. Even with the high lake levels, we had a nice sandy beach on most days, except when the wind was particularly strong and the lake very rough – the pics are very accurate. There were plenty of beach items: chairs, boogie boards, towels, umbrellas. The large side deck was very spacious, great for sitting / dining / happy hour, and the Weber gas grill was ideal for grilling. The trees and shrubs on both sides of the cottage offered good privacy and a pleasant garden surrounding. The interior of the cottage has been nicely redone while maintaining a wonderfully quaint, period feel. When you entered the cottage, you felt like you were stepping back into a past era, but with all of the modern comforts and conveniences – it felt GOOD. The kitchen lacked for nothing – very well equipped, including dishwasher, with a large dining table. The beds were all very comfortable, and the linens excellent. The living room provided very comfortable seating for reading in the evenings. WiFi was excellent at 100 Mbs down, 10 up (unfortunately, one of us could not leave work entirely behind). The VERY BEST ROOM in the cottage was the screened in front porch, which was huge and offered sweeping views of the lake. It was a natural gathering place, and we spent a lot of time here. The wicker furniture was comfortable, and perfect for a cottage front porch. The property manager, Kerry, was very responsive, and the onsite managers, Carl and Amy, were always available to help or answer any questions. We really enjoyed their company, and they spared no effort in making our stay enjoyable. We look forward to a return stay !
