Summary: We stayed in a junior suite, and it overlooked the front garden area. It was a large, comfortable room with everything you could need for an overnight stay in York. I would request to stay away from the staircases as there are guest bathrooms for the function rooms, and you can hear everything, which was not great when trying to sleep. The TV was smart and displayed all channels and apps. You could order room service, and the staff was prompt and very polite. Medium-grade breakfast with English and continental options, great value for money - option for breakfast in the room on weekends for £5 extra. About a 10 min walk into the city and close to the train station. On-site parking for £22 pounds a day. Overall, it was great stay and I would recommend it to others.
