Summary: This VRBO is fairly new and has potential, but it still has a few kinks to work out. For instance, there were only two towels provided, and while the listing mentioned a futon for extra sleeping space, there were no sheets or covers for it. Basic amenities like shampoo and soap were also missing, and the shower curtain rod kept falling down.The location is excellent—just a short walk to the charming shops and restaurants of old St. Charles, and direct access to the Katy Trail for walking or biking. However, being in such a central area also meant it was quite noisy at night, with loud activity continuing until 2 a.m. on one occasion.My biggest concern, though, was safety. I arrived late at night and entered through the back entrance, only to find the door to my unit wide open—not just unlocked, but open. On another day, a UPS driver walked straight through the front door, thinking the unit was a business. Strangely, I had never unlocked the front door, and after he left, I couldn’t even get it open myself.Overall, while the location is great, the property needs some important updates and clearer security measures before I would feel comfortable staying again.
