The Tulip Tree Bay Cottage provides the serenity of the country with the amenities and style of city life!
The contemporary kitchen and stylish furnishings stand out among other houses in the region. The Cottage is gorgeously appointed with contemporary furnishings and vintage pieces. Original art and photography adorn the walls, some of it from local artists and artisans. The kitchen is small, but for those who love fine food and drink, it will be a joyous place to create food for the ones they love! There is a regular coffee maker, a Keurig, and a French Press. Cookbooks and cooking magazines abound for the foodie who likes to spend getaways entertaining.
The main floor bedroom has a queen size bed and a full bath immediately next to it. The upstairs has two bedrooms and one full bath: one room with twin beds and the other with a queen bed. The downstairs basement sitting room has a full sofa bed that sleeps two. Gorgeous bed linens and simple but modern furniture make the bedrooms each a little oasis for rest and relaxation.
Outdoor adventures are plentiful in this area. Local walks yield vistas of the lake and access to the lake's edge as well as wooded fields and the bountiful flora and fauna of Tennessee. Local fishing, hiking, camping, boating can all easily be accessed at Sligo Marina and Ragland Bottom State Park. Don't forget about Burgess Falls, Canoe the Caney, and local golf as well.
There are excellent food options in neighboring Sparta and Smithville and easy access to basic needs at grocers and big-box chain retailers. If you want to eat out more than in, try The Foglight Foodhouse and Blue Water Grill for a night out. For casual dining try Webb's Pharmacy, Los Lobos, Sundance, Kilgore's, and Smithville Donuts.
Artists-in-Residence and local artists and their work abound at the nearby Appalachian Center for Craft, which is a must-see for the art lover!
