Summary: Location was quiet and peaceful although there were lots of spiders and bird poo on all outdoor chairs and deck. It seemed hard to believe they have cleaned any portion of the outdoor seating areas in sometime. Woodpeckers loved the trees that had lots of black ants, which was not pleasant. A dirty dishcloth was left on the kitchen sink and dirty towels in the hall hamper from previous guests. We did not attempt to use the ice maker as it had black mold and the gas grill was filthy. There were empty cardboard boxes left in the yard that we took care of. The upstairs shower bar kept falling. When we called for a repair of that and the front door we were told by the maintenance there was nothing they could do with the shower bar and showed me how Velcro was holding it up on the right and there was no screw to tighten it. The main door not properly fitting in the frame feels like cutting corners as once an extra long screw was put in it was a bit easier to manage. The front screen door didn’t fit the frame either leaving a 1 inch gap on the left side for insects to enter the cabin. The upstairs bedroom had black ants crawling on the carpet. There were no directions for the fireplace that automatically came on when the temps dropped, which was odd as that would be an easy instruction sheet to add in the house book. We found it gross the checkout instructions say to leave the mattress pad and comforter on the bed unless soiled…ew how about washing the mattress pad at minimum?
