Summary: First impreasions are good, a nice welcome touch of bread, cheese, milk and some homemade chocolates. Which after an 8 hour on the road day from Skye was welcome. The cottage is warm, comfortable and you need for nothing, all kitchen items are clean and plentiful. The sofa is comfortable and there is a nice information pack detailing the surrounding area. The bedroom is large and the bed was comfortable for me, the wife said it was a little soft but we slept well. Now onto the main letdown, the bathroom in particular the shower. Although the water was warm and plentiful there is an alarming amount of black mould on the outside of the unit. It actually made us feel a little nauseous to look at. Theres obviously a few leaks which have not been fixed or cleaned to an accetable level.We have pictures but wont post. If this can be sorted with a new unit then we will definitely be back, the area is beautiful and the local pub is welcoming. You are 10 mins from Carlisle and the outdoors is on the doorstep. We will be back as its a good stop off point for Scotland from where we live. IF the bathroom shower is sorted. Thanks.
