Travel Purpose: business

Positive: This is a very nice property. The house is well equipped, clean and adequate space (we were 2 couples and a dog) in a very nice neighbourhood. Beds were comfortable, shower pressure was great, kitchen had almost every appliance and accessory we might need (I did bring a kettle as I was informed that there was not one and I am a tea drinker). Air conditioning worked fantastic (and so did the heat!! - it got cold!) The deck off the kitchen was great and the area behind the house is an undeveloped 'naturalized' lot so no house looking at you. Very private. The walk to the beach was an easy 5 minute walk (with a crosswalk which made it easy/safe to cross A1A). Be aware, the only way in and out is up 15 stairs, so some people may struggle with that. The pool was beautiful but a little cold for February but we enjoyed sitting around it on the loungers (some were brave enough to jump in quickly and get out!). The 'games room' was nice and equipped with a mini ping pong table, paddles, a foosball table, corn hole and a variety of kids beach toys. Very nice to have. Loved the property and had a great stay. Some improvements would be: fix the microwave, improve water pressure in the bathroom sinks, offer heat to the pool (as an option, paid if necessary), replace old worn pots, fix front door lock and provide local contact to deal with issues.

Negative: Getting anything done via Vacasa's call centre was a challenge. Although we did tell them the toaster was broken and a new one arrived promptly. We told them the smoke detector was going off (batteries) and they came right away to fix. However, multiple emails were exchanged with Vacasa's call centre (each one answered by a different person) asking if we could use the solar blanket to warm the pool. They said we didn't have access to it (it was in the games room). We told them the microwave didn't work, and since it was above the stove we had no stove fan so we kept setting off the smoke detector. They forwarded it to the local contact but nothing happened. We told them that the fridge filter needed to be replaced (light was on) and received no action. I asked if we could pay to have the pool heater turned on for the last week of our stay to enjoy the pool for a few days. I was told by the Vacasa rep that there was no heater. I was looking right at the heater (which had a sign on it that said "don't touch the heater"). I told her there was a heater but at that point I was done dealing with them. Very frustrating. That said, the local manager was excellent and very friendly. Unfortunately we didn't have her direct contact information. I think that would have helped. Perhaps offer that information to guests in order to avoid the call centre. The water pressure in the bathroom sinks is extremely low. The shower is fine. And our stay was for 28 days and we were given 2 dishwasher tabs and 2 garbage bags. I think the number should be in line with how many days the guests are booked. For a one month stay I think additional supplies should be provided. The kitchen pots were teflon and some were peeling off. They should be replaced as they are unsafe to use. The front door was very difficult to open and lock. Add a broom to the garage/games room so it could be swept.
