Positive: The apartment was clean, with a little private ground floor terrace for breakfast. The room and bathroom do have everything you need but it is all on the small side. I guess it is ok if you stay just one night like we did but it is something to be aware of if you plan to stay more days in Gallipoli. Free parking is available in a public car park just across the road, which is a great plus if you travel by car
Negative: The Tre Perle has a policy to deliver breakfast to your private terrace in the morning, so you have to book it the night before. Great, so as soon we arrived we were just asked on the spot “what would you like”? Unfortunately there was no menu and nothing specific was put forward by the host, so it was a bit difficult to second guess what we could actually have. Anyway, the host was quick to point out that we booked the “basic breakfast” (whatever that means as on Booking.com there are no “levels” of breakfast to choose from). We went with the flow and settled on a cappuccino and one pastry each, basically a breakfast that is nothing like rich and varied as the ones shown on bookings.com. Unfortunately, quantity was not the only issue, the quality of pastry and cappuccino was also not great. The pastry was stale and the cappuccino was like a very long Latte with very little coffee. This is Italy and one would expect a bit better to be honest. Also, one slice of unseeded (!!!) melon appeared on our breakfast table (it was unexpected, as it was not mentioned the day before). It tasted good but it was also annoying that it was just one, when there were clearly two people having breakfast! I thought that was careless to the point of being insensitive and, for me, it definitely tipped the scale about the Tre Perle. Overall, the experience was disappointing
