Summary: We loved our restful week at this beautiful property. We are a family of 5 and the house was the perfect size with plenty of space for gathering and privacy. Our older kids loved the bunk house, it was like they had a camp of their own. We often found ourselves saying that the house had all the things that we would want in a lake house rental...multiple boats for paddling, huge screened porch, hammock, bunk beds, dishwasher, good knives, good coffee maker, multiple bathrooms, fire pit...it was a hike to go out for things we needed but we didn't find ourselves doing that much! We were excited to try a new area in Maine after renting in more populated areas, and we loved this area and hope to return.We paddled a lot, especially to the nearby island with a rope swing and small campsites, and further into a cove where we observed a lot of beaver activity. There were boats on the lake but they generally stayed quiet and slow during the weekdays. We took a trip north to near Sugarloaf at the Narrow Gauge Trail and went biking and river swimming. My husband caught plenty of large fish in the lake with his fly rod. The property is so cozy and we spent most of our time outdoors. There are neighbors close by so expect to see and hear them, but it wasn't anything that bothered us much. We had an excellent experience dealing with this host and are hoping to come back!
