Positive: This apartment is in a great location — close to local amenities, restaurants, a supermarket, and the beach. Parking is available for one vehicle, and being outside the Old Town means you avoid the sky-high prices in that area. The apartment itself was spacious, with plenty of room to comfortably accommodate our group of seven. The internet connection was strong, and the information sheet provided included some helpful local tips. A big plus was the bus stop right outside the apartment. The No. 6 bus runs directly to Pile Gate, just outside Dubrovnik’s Old Town, for only €1.78 each way, or you can opt for a day ticket at just over €5. This made getting around easy and affordable. Overall, a comfortable and well-located base for exploring Dubrovnik with a lower fee for what is an extortionately priced town.
Negative: We arrived at night and found it challenging to carry our luggage up to the third floor. There is no lift, and the hallway near the apartment was unlit, making it difficult to navigate safely. The initial parking information given was inaccurate, though the host did quickly update us once we mentioned it. Access was straightforward, with keys left inside the unlocked apartment, but there was no personal greeting at any point during our stay, which felt rather unwelcoming. Cleanliness was lacking — there were leftover food packets and some dirty utensils in the kitchen, raising concerns about how thoroughly the apartment had been checked between guests. A few maintenance issues stood out: the TV remote barely worked and the TV itself is very dated. The hot water boiler only supports about five consecutive showers, so with seven people in our group, some of us faced cold showers or had to wait for it to reheat. Aside from basic soap and shampoo, there were no extra amenities or welcome touches provided. We missed the thoughtful gestures — like coffee, snacks, or even a small welcome item — which we’ve appreciated at other accommodations worldwide. Overall, the stay was functional but lacked warmth and attention to detail.
