Beaulieu-sur-mer is a unique town on the Cote d'Azur with a rich history and many sights to see. Beaches are within 7 min. walking distance of the villa. With its open floor plan, the villa feels light and airy. The decor has deliberately been kept simple and uncluttered to allow the breathtaking views to take center stage. Dining on the upstairs terrace under the awning is a treat.
The kitchen is fully stocked and modern amenities including fiber to the home, individually regulated AC and heat to bedrooms and new home appliances offer comfort for guests. A lovely garden with Mediterranean flora boasts culinary herbs, lavender and citrus (winter and spring). There is one parking spot for a smaller vehicle.
Villa les Lucioles is a lovely and safe getaway for anyone wanting to experience a slice of 'real' life in the South of France. The safety aspect of the town is well suited for women travelers, families with children (and those kids who wish to explore a bit on their own) and active older individuals. The neighborhood is occupied by neighbors who have known each other for over 25 years and yet the villa is very private with its location on a very narrow dead end street. Bus stop at 230 m, supermarket approx. 10 mins on foot, motorway at 5 min, train station 10 min on foot. Mountain biking, cycling, hiking, kayaking, tours, watersports/boat tours, paddleboard, kayaking, etc, starting from the villa or 5 min away. Paragliding at 20 mins. Perched villages at 30 min. Mercantour Park 1 hour away. Ski resorts are 1hr 30 minutes away. Monaco at 10 km, Italy at 5 km. Nice airport 30 - 40 mins, depending on the time of day.
Note: This property is built into a hillside and has many stairs, some of them steep. Thus, it is not appropriate for some. Another consideration is that the property owner, an older gentleman, lives in a studio on site. Small well behaved pets will be considered upon request. If additional space is needed, an adjoining small studio space with a full bath can be made available. Due to its neighborhood location, the villa is not suitable for loud festivities and lively evenings. Think of it more as a meditative and relaxing retreat to return to after a lot of sightseeing and activities. OR, as many friends have done, sit on the terrace, enjoy the view with a good book and never leave.
