Note the pool is outdoor and is open from 15th May to 15th September. The villa is a historic farm house in the peaceful and beautiful Chio valley in southern Tuscany, only 20 mins drive from the medieval city of Cortona and 30 mins from Arezzo. The estate is changed little from medieval times and we occasionally find etruscan and roman artifacts in fields around the property. The core of the house dates to the 16th century, and all modern modifications were completed true to traditional methods and using local materials. The house now has all modern comforts. The panoramic terrace (perfect for a sunset aperitivo), and pool are all yours for your stay. The views across the Chio and Chiana valleys are stunning and dotted with medieval towns such as Montalcino and Montepulciano. There are many excellent restaurants and shops in the local town, 5 minutes drive away. There are many walks and trails locally, as well as bicycle hire. There is wildlife in abundance. Our goal is always to offer a unique experience such that you will love the property and estate as much as we do.
Note that we also have a small autonomous cottage, suitable for an additional couple, that can be booked for a small additional charge. Please ask for details if required.

Summary: A lovely house with a great pool-with-a-view on a higher level and five outdoor eating areas to choose from. Barbara and John are based very nearby and were great hosts; nothing was too much trouble, there was a thoughtful and plentiful welcome pack on arrival - including their own olive oil and communication was fast and easy. It’s great to arrive somewhere where the host had clearly put a lot of thought and care into providing everything you could possibly need for a wonderful holiday.
