Positive: We were looking for an experience different from a usual hotel stay & La Chartreuse Haut-Bailly definitely offered that. The Chateau is clean and beautiful. Can tell they refurbished it & tastefully done with it’s own charm. The breakfast experience is superb, just like it was mentioned in other review. We can tell the host takes a lot of pride in preparing the breakfast from table layout to the food. It’s not just tastefully done, it’s delicious as well. We looked forward to breakfast everyday. We left something behind after check out and the staff arranged it to be shipped back to our country of residence. We were so grateful for that so thank you so much to the team at La Chartreuse Haut-Bailly for your hospitality. 😌
Negative: 1) lock faulty to the connecting family room. Privacy was compromised. Lucky it was low season & we were the ones there. If the chateaux is full, it would have been a bummer. Staff should have checked and ensure prior to arrival since we booked a family room. 2) no lifts so unless you can handle your large luggage, small hand carry are recommended. We did fine.
