Summary: We have been coming to Sarasota for many years and have stayed in different locations around the city, including on the keys. The Mermaid Cottage was exactly what we have been looking for with close proximity to the beach, quiet neighborhood, and easy access to get around to other locations. The location just over the north bridge to Siesta Key was ideal and allows you to be on the beach in less that ten minutes from leaving the driveway. It is also close to Tamiami Trail and makes it easy to get to other beaches or restaurants. The unit was just as described, clean, and stocked with what guests need for the visit. This visit was just for my wife and me, but is setup to accommodate a family or two couples which allows plenty of privacy. We would not hesitate to stay at The Mermaid Cottage again and hope to find some openings on the schedule to do so.
