Summary: The cabin is much nicer inside than the exterior suggests. The interior is updated, beautiful, and thoughtfully designed. Communication with the owners was excellent. The biggest downside was the extremely slow internet, making streaming TV very frustrating. There was also no TV in the downstairs master bedroom, despite a credenza for one. While we don't come to the mountains to watch TV, we do enjoy having it on in the evenings. Our 3-star rating is mainly because the cabin sits so deeply surrounded by trees that it felt dark and enclosed, with very little mountain view or natural light. For us, it felt claustrophobic. After spending 35 years vacationing in the mountains every July 4th, we've learned what type of setting we enjoy, and this wasn't it. We actually left a day early because we never felt comfortable. Dog owners should also know that visibility around the cabin is limited, making it difficult to spot wildlife. A couple of gates on the deck would also make it more dog-friendly. Overall, it's a well-kept cabin, but the location simply wasn't the right fit for us.
