The Casita is a beautiful studio space located at our home the Mermaids Ranch Florida. It is ideally for the use of 2 adults. It can accommodate up to two additional persons. The bathroom is a galley style and does have walls for privacy, and barn style doors to close it off.
It is a large, open studio space with all the comforts of home. Large Hurricane Impact windows allow the sunshine in and viewing of the woods.
Please note that the studio is attached (locked off) to the main house. You may occasionally hear sounds of life and living and occasionally you may hear our friendly dogs. We have installed additional sound deadening insulation to cut down on sound. If this will be a problem, this may not be the listing for you.
Here is some important info to note about our listing.
DUST AND LOCATION:
Our place is located about 15 min from the beach. Grocery stores, gas stations and restaurants are located with 1.5 miles We are located in a quiet and safe old Florida subdivision about 8 miles from the beach.
The roads are sandy and sometimes dusty. That being said, we keep a VERY clean house, but occasionally you will see dust that simply comes along with being on a sandy road. PLEASE do not give us a bad review for location and cleanliness due to situations beyond our control.
WEATHER:
We hope your stay is filled with Sunshine and wonderful adventures, but please understand that we have no control over the weather. We take great pride in providing a comfortable and inviting space for your stay. If the weather does happen to turn bad, we have lots of wonderful things in the home to occupy your time. Puzzles, games, movies, cooking and more. Nearby are several Museums to escape the weather for a few hours.
That being said, Please do not give us a bad review due to the weather!
CRITTERS, FLORA, FAUNA:
Another VERY important thing to note... This is South Florida and the property backs to a beautiful forest/preserve. You most likely will see and hear a variety of bugs and critters. This includes Frogs, Toads, Water bugs, Roaches, Ants, Dragonflys, Snakes, Turtles, Raccoons, Opossums, and even Coyotes. These critters are native here and no amount cleaning, pruning, and constant maintenance will completely eliminate these as this is what is natural to the area. VERY IMPORTANT TO NOT LEAVE TRASH OUT AT ANY TIME.
POOL & HOT TUB:
Our beautiful resort style pool has just been completely redone. It features a beautiful 6' long Mermaid mosaic at the bottom. It is a Salt pool and is heated.
The pool area is fenced off and available by request.
It is also imperative that you understand the dangers of using a pool or hot tub.
The hot tub is not shared with the main house. It is strictly for use and enjoyment of guests in the Casita. It is permissible to use the hot tub up to one hour total per day with the Jets.
Use of the pool and hot tub require guests to sign and agree to the Pool/Hot tub Waiver.
Any smoking inside the Casita is a $250 fine. There is a smoking area available outside in the courtyard and a can for your cigarette butts.
