Positive: The host and the facility were both wonderful. We stopped in Pace del Mela because my lady was looking for the family of her grandfather who was from the area. When she communicated this to our host, Mimmo, he did everything he could to help which included driving us to a close-by town, talking to townspeople, and knocking on doors. In the end, we were successful, and would have had a lot of difficulty if not for him. He also introduced us to granita siciliana when he took us to Bar Attilio prior to our search. The facility is a tribute to his late wife whose smiling face you can see adorning the top of the building. There are three different units, each one named for his nieces. We stayed in the Marika Apartment on the ground floor which was great since we didn't need to carry luggage up the stairs. The unit was spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated with an outside terrace adjacent to the garden. There were views of mountains, and, in the distance, the sea. Parking was easy - either on the street or in the private lot not too far from the entrance. Not mentioned in the description was there was also a washing machine. Also, although no mention was made of breakfast, it was offered. It's usually in the garden area, but weather prevented us from having it there on our first morning. Instead, Mimmo took us to a local cafe for cappuccinos and cornetti. The second day, breakfast was in a porched in area bordering on the garden. Overall, it was a memorable experience which was directly due to the warmth and kindness of our host. By the end of our stay, it felt like we made a friend for life. Thank you, Mimmo!
